Enterprise Investors to finance expansion of Kinoplex, a major polish cinema operator

Warsaw, 15 February 2002 — The Polish Enterprise Fund and Polish Enterprise Fund IV, both managed by Enterprise Investors, have paid $3 million for a 39% stake in Kinoplex, a major Polish cinema operator. Kinoplex is to use the funds to partially finance its expansion program. The operator plans to roll out multiplexes in second-tier markets in Poland, where the competitive outlook is very attractive. If Kinoplex achieves its goals in the first stage of the investment program, EI will consider additional exposure of its funds. (more…)

Enterprise Investors invests in a start-up chain of home furnishing stores in poland

Warsaw, 6 December 2001 — Enterprise Investors, the largest venture capital/private equity firm in CEE, has invested $3 million in Decorador, a new chain of home furnishing stores being launched in Poland. EI has made the investment through the Polish Enterprise Fund and Polish Enterprise Fund IV, two of the funds it manages. The first Decorador shop will open in Warsaw in March 2002. EI will consider an additional $3 million as a potential follow-on investment to finance the rollout of the concept in other major Polish cities. (more…)

Enterprise Investors invests in polish messenger Service Stolica

Warsaw, 4 April 2001 — Polish Enterprise Fund IV, the private equity fund managed by Enterprise Investors, has invested PLN 22 million ($5.3 million) in Messenger Service Stolica, a leading and rapidly expanding Polish provider of courier, express, and parcel delivery services. Polish Enterprise Fund to invest in medical information

Warsaw, 20 February 2001 — Polish Enterprise Fund IV, the private equity fund managed by Enterprise Investors, has invested $1 million in a start-up research company, Instytut Badań i Informacji Szpitalnych (Institute of Medical Research and Information). The institute will operate in the medical market, offering market research and information to hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and suppliers. Its products will include hospital benchmarking, drug consumption monitoring, surveys of the state of the Polish healthcare market and a prognosis of future trends, as well as healthcare guidelines for patients. One of the aims of the company is to help stabilize the Polish healthcare market. (more…)
