Enterprise Investors was awarded the "2011 Investment Company of the Year" title in Romania. The award was made by the financial magazine Business Arena, in recognition of our capital increase in Profi Rom Food Group. This is the second time Business Arena has awarded us this title to esteem our investment activities on the Romanian market.

Robert G. Faris, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Enterprise Investors, received the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Merit. President Bronisław Komorowski honored Mr. Faris with this distinction for his contribution to the development of the Polish economy. See photo gallery.

In 2010 a special 20th-Anniversary Ventura was awarded by the gala audience to Enterprise Investors, for its 100 Investments in Poland. There were two other nominations for this celebratory distinction: Management Stock Options and 25 Initial Public Offerings on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The Ventura Awards are EI's prestigious annual awards program recognizing the firm’s best portfolio companies.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Poland honored Robert Faris, one of the founders of Enterprise Investors and its first president, with "The 20th Anniversary Pioneer" title. In justifying its decision, AmCham noted that the pioneering vision of EI's chairman broke down the barriers to business development in Poland in the early 1990s.

Enterprise Investors won the "2010 CEE Deal of the Year Award" for its partial exit from AVG Technologies from unquote” - one of the major global trade private equity publications. 2010 winners were determined by the magazine’s readership vote.

Enterprise Investors’ partial exit from AVG Technologies in 2009 received emeafinance's 2009 Best Private Equity Exit Award. This distinction, which recognizes excellence in the EMEA region (Emerging Europe, Middle East, Africa), is one of the annual Achievement Awards organized by the reputable independent periodical, emeafinance.

NESsT, a pioneer in venture philanthropy in emerging markets, granted its International Venture Philanthropy Award, the “NESsT Golden Egg Award”, to Robert Manz, Managing Partner of Enterprise Investors, for his leadership in promoting venture philanthropy in Central and Eastern Europe.

Enterprise Investors received the Mid-Market Deal of the Year (CEE) award for our successful flotation of Magellan on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2007. The award was granted by Incisive Media, publisher of the trade industry magazine "unquote".

EI was voted Best Private Equity Firm in Central and Eastern Europe in 2007 by the readers of Private Equity International, in the magazine's prestigious annual Global Private Equity Awards. This is the fifth time Enterprise Investors has received this award.

Enterprise Investors received the 2007 Central & Eastern Europe unquote" Private Equity Award for the fundraising of Polish Enterprise Fund VI, which was named Fundraising of the Year.

Enterprise Investors came first in a ranking of the most active private equity firms organized by the Polish edition of Forbes, the prestigious business magazine.

Enterprise Investors received the Edgar Fulton Jr. Award for Outstanding Long-term Investment from the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland. This special award was granted for the first time in the history of the organization. EI received it in recognition of 15 years of successful investment in Poland while supporting economic transformation and entrepreneurship.

Enterprise Investors was named the 2004 Financial Institution of the Year in Central and Eastern Europe at the 15th Economic Forum in Krynica Zdrój. We received the award for our innovative approach to introducing financial products and services as well as for our reliability and client-friendliness.

For the fourth consecutive year Enterprise Investors was voted as the Best Private Equity Firm in Central and Eastern Europe by the readers of Private Equity International, in the magazine’s 2004 Global Private Equity Awards. This was the largest online reader poll ever held of the world’s top firms, deals and individuals in private equity.

The award recognizes EI's innovative investment approach, credibility, friendliness toward entrepreneurs, intelligent investment policy, and brave restructuring practice, as well as its contribution to the development of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

For the second consecutive year EI was named Best Private Equity Firm in Central and Eastern Europe by Private Equity International and PrivateEquityOnline.com, two of the industry's top publications. Commenting on our award, Private Equity International noted that in 2002 EI yet again proved itself a strong and consistent performer in the region.

EI was voted Best Private Equity Firm in Central and Eastern Europe by users of PrivateEquityOnline.com. The winner was chosen by the site's 17,000 users, who cast their votes in an annual poll.

Enterprise Investors was awarded for its contribution to transforming Polish industry in 2000, and was recognized primarily for "engaging in innovative projects." The award was made by the Polish Society for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship, through its monthly business publication Nowy Przemysł (New Industry).

In 1999 the Polish American Enterprise Fund, the pioneer fund in the EI group, received the Special Award from Aleksander Kwaśniewski, the President of Poland, for its "special contribution to the development of the Polish economy.

In 1999 President Aleksander Kwaśniewski honored John P. Birkelund with the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland.

John P. Birkelund, Chairman and Senior Partner at EI, was recognized for his contribution to the development of the Polish economy with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit. He was presented with this high honor by the Polish President, Lech Wałęsa.
